Call My Agent! The Movie Lands in Paris as Netflix Courts France

A series that became a night out
The Paris premiere of “Call My Agent! The Movie” — “Dix Pour Cent” on home screens — filled the Olympia with the original company and a guest list that included Laetitia Casta, Jamel Debbouze, JoeyStarr and Camille Cottin. The film, directed by Émilie Noblet, picks up five years after the agency A.S.K. collapsed and follows Andréa Martel as she tries to shoot a first feature after losing her lead actor.
Netflix has dated the release around 10 September. The premiere was staged like an awards night because the series still functions as a calling card for French comedy abroad.
The speech behind the photocall
Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos used the carpet to argue the company is not an outsider in France, citing hundreds of millions of dollars in series and film spending, including a dedicated cinema envelope. The remarks land in a live fight over investment obligations and release windows.
Why the film matters beyond fans
French entertainment is arguing with platforms and still selling them its best-loved titles. “Dix Pour Cent” is both sides of that argument in one room: a local hit that needs a global pipe, and a global pipe that needs local goodwill.
