Leclat: Joseph Bonner Show Opens New Season on Black-Owned JBN Television
Updated: Sep 8
A new season of The Joseph Bonner Show arrived with the polish of a prestige launch and the independence of a network that owns its own pipes. JBN TV and JBN radio carried the premiere on Sept. 6, 2026.
The opener
The opener is titled Trapped in Silence: The 12-Year Miracle. The first drop runs about eight minutes and 44 seconds. It is live on Spreaker and listed as the latest Joseph Bonner Show episode on Spotify, with JBN radio and JBN TV carrying the same season launch.
What premiered
The feature story is Martin Pistorius, the South African who fell ill at age 12, lost movement and speech, and spent years treated as if he were gone. He later said his mind was awake. A caregiver noticed. He found a path back to communication and wrote Ghost Boy. Host Joseph Bonner frames the account as hope, resilience, and the cost of being unseen.
The same episode runs an entertainment and world-news desk. Spotify listing for the premiere flags a Las Vegas verdict connected to the 1996 killing of Tupac Shakur, alongside business and international headlines. That mix of wire-service pace plus a human story is the season opening format.
Where to watch and listen
Audio on JBN radio affiliates, iHeart, Spotify, and Spreaker. Video on JBN TV Network channels on Roku, including city and international feeds under the Joseph Bonner Network banner. Guests are booked camera-ready. Segments are positioned for IMDb listing in the new season.
This is a Black-owned independent television and radio network season, not a loaned hour on a conglomerate schedule. JBN is Joseph Bonner Network: stations, podcast distribution, and private TV channels the host controls.
Independent entertainment launches rarely get the same first-day language as a network upfront. They should. A new season on owned radio and owned TV is still a premiere. The first episode asks a question entertainment audiences understand: what if the person in the room was awake the whole time?
The Joseph Bonner Show 2026 slate also includes celebrity-framed specials, magazine features, and ongoing human-rights reporting. The Pistorius episode is the cold open: news, then a story built to travel in Google News and U.S. entertainment search.
